About Us
Who Are We?
Broadcast is a wonderful class that gives students a chance to work in a professional setting. The class has to function like a real company, teaching us important skills for later on. Students have to work under real deadlines to produce their news reports, going out on their own time to film and interview people. Students learn to edit videos, coordinate meetings and interviews, and use a camera. They also learn important life skills, like teamwork, diligence, and commitment.
With a rotating set of jobs, students get to try all kinds of experiences, from going out into the field to managing a team and equipment. Students get a chance to see what it’s like to function in a news station, giving them an opportunity to decide on their careers. Tune in to KJLS PantherCast on Monday thru Friday.
