Near Rinconada Cultural Park in Palo Alto lies a street that holds a heartfelt holiday tradition beloved by residents and visitors alike. Christmas Tree Lane, located on Fulton Street, transforms from an ordinary road to the most festive road in the Palo Alto community. The street hosts amazing decorations, such as flashing rainbow lights (lots of lights), cutouts, and massive inflatables of holiday themes.
The tradition is held by the residents of Fulton Street. The residents decorate their homes to bring the people together and create a special tradition for the Bay Area. What first began as a small neighborhood event in 1944 has now evolved into something everyone enjoys seeing every year. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the event.
Every year, Christmas Tree Lane is open from December 11th to December 31st, between the hours of 5 pm and 11 pm. Visitors can walk or drive to see the hard work people put into making this happen, and it is accessible to everyone.
Christmas Tree Lane goes far beyond the holiday celebrations. It celebrates the community and spreads holiday cheer from generation to generation. So maybe next time you and your family want to celebrate the winter holidays, drop by the Christmas Tree Lane and watch the show!
